Painting in the Spring Class

Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21, 4:30-6:00, ages 7-11  

In this playful and imaginative class, kids will explore the art of creating abstract forms using wire and stretchable nylon fabric (pantyhose!). Students will bend, twist, and shape wire into dynamic frameworks, upon which they will stretch the nylon fabric. The final step will be to to add color, texture with paint. Along the way, they’ll learn basic sculpture techniques, experiment with balance and negative space, and discover how abstract art can express ideas, emotions, and energy in three dimensions.
